White Gold Wedding Rings

I like the bright white look of the white gold but I also like the strength of the palladium. I just want an opinion from other people. Which is better?

Just wanted to know what’s more desirable between a white gold band and a yellow gold band for an engagement or wedding ring. In this case, we’ve been married over 20 years and my wife’s wedding ring is yellow gold from years ago, which she still has and mine is a matching yellow gold, but she lost the diamond from her engagement ring (also was yellow gold) years ago and I’m thinking of surprising her and replacing it with a diamond ring with white gold, which I heard is more contemporary these days. But I heard we should not mix and match between the two (one is yellow gold while the other is white gold and vice-versa) because it may not look right when wearing both. But white gold seems to be more popular these days. Should we just change both our wedding bands as well if I got her a white gold replacement diamong ring? The jeweler suggested I get a yellow band "enhancer" (basically another band or ring) that houses or surrounds the white gold band with the diamond, kind of blending the two colors together, but that’s spending more than I want, almost doubling what I planned to spend. Or should I just go back and exchange the one I got for one with yellow gold? (Yes, I already got the diamond ring with the white gold already even though her wedding band from years ago is yellow.) But seems yellow is outdated these days. I’m stuck and don’t know what to do. Need your advice and/or feedback. Thanks!

I’ve been wearing my engagement ring since last friday. I do take my ring off when I wash my hands, take a shower, wash dishes, work out or go to bed at night. Other then that my ring is on my finger. About four days ago, I noticed that the skin around my ring is becoming raw & tender. My fiance suggested that I try putting a medicated lotion around my finger, and leaving my ring off for a couple of days. This morning I woke up and my finger looked so much better. My fiance thinks that I’m allergic to the nickle in the white gold. When we were having lunch today my fiance said that we could always have the diamond remounted into a platinum setting. One of our favorite jewelry stores is having a remounting show this weekend. I know that they carry platinum settings. My fiance has insisted that I be 100% happy with my engagement & wedding rings. Did you replace them with platinum rings, if you had a skin reaction? Please no rude answers, thanks.
I’ve had reactions to some white gold earrings my grandmother gave me a long time ago. My ears would swell up within 10 minutes of me putting them in. I was not sure if my fingers would have the same reactions. I replaced the white gold studs with platinum years ago. I’ve never had a reaction since.

I just recently dipped my yellow wedding rings in white gold and everytime I wear them I get muscle aches in my arms

I have worn the yellow gold rings for the last fourteen years and never had this problem

What do you think is the best metal for a mens wedding ring/band? Gold, white or yellow, platinum, titanium or tungsten.
Also, i was wondering is a tungsten band just cheaper than all the rest of them? Because i rarely hear of it

It is a red rash only on her ring finger. The skin looks a little flakey too. It gets better after she takes it off and basically disappears. We sent it off to be professionally cleaned, buffed, etc., hoping that maybe it was just something on the ring that could be cleaned off. This is the only ring she wears. Will switching to a white gold ring alleviate the rash/irritation or will she have to go without any ring?

My husband bought me a white gold wedding ring (with diamond). We have been married for a few years now and have had two children. When I was pregnant with my second child I developed an allergy to the nickel in the white gold. Now I cannot wear my ring because my finger gets a rash, swells, cracks, etc. I am very upset that this has happened and now we are trying to figure out what to do. We are considering upgrading to platinum but how does this process work? Do we go back to the store where we bought the original ring and trade it in? Do they give us credit for the original ring to put toward the trade-in/upgrade? Not sure how it works and would appreciate some info on this. Thanks! My wedding band is white gold and I was working on an art project using yellow acrylic paint. The paint seems to have stained the bottom of my ring! It isn’t thick enough for me to scrape or peel off, it is just tinted yellow. Please tell me how I can remove this! I’ve tried cleaning it myself with jewelry cleaner and also had it cleaned at the jewelers where it was purchased but I can still see the yellow tint. HELP PLEASE!!

It turns out im allergic to my white gold wedding band-i think its the nickle in it. My engagement ring is platinum and hasnt caused any reaction but I got an awful irritation after I started wearing my wedding band.
Either that or im allergic to marriage!!

While cleaning out a drawer, I came across my dad’s old wedding ring. He doesn’t want it (my parents have been divorced for about 30 years).

It’s 14K white gold with some kind of pattern cut into it (to give it texture, I guess).
Not sure of the thickness; not real thick but not paper thin either.

Is it worth anything?

My engagement ring is silver, with a stone. For a wedding ring, should I stick to silver, or could I get a white gold or platinum one? Would it look odd? Would they wear unevenly?

My ring is a yellow gold halo ring (The band is diamonds, and the center ring is surrounded in a circle by small diamonds). Usually, these rings have two matching bands…one for the wedding and one for an anniversary…but we are buying ours at once. The jeweler suggested that I get the surrounding wedding bands in diamond white gold to brighten the ring up. Basically, the yellow gold ring would be sandwiched between white gold bands…is this tacky?

My Aunty has asked me if I would like my late nan’s wedding band which I am really honoured to be offered. My wedding ring is an 14k white gold, 2.0carat diamond wedding set. The center stone is .5carat and the rest of the diamonds make up the other 1.5carats. The ring is G color and a SV1 clarity. Can anyone help me?
